Cornell Thomas, Director

Cornell was a First Team All Conference Player for Sussex County Community College. He then attended Minot State University in North Dakota on a full basketball scholarship, where he ranked among the top in the conference in three-point percentage and three-point field goals made. After graduation, he attended various semi-professional camps, receiving a contract to play semi-pro basketball overseas. Due to a career ending injury Cornell began personal training up and coming basketball players in different parts of New Jersey. After running the Sussex County Community College youth basketball camps for the past four years, Cornell started Crossroads Basketball to continue his efforts in helping players become the best they could be. Cornell is going into his third season as the head mens basketball at Sussex County Community College. This past season Cornell and his team received the Sam Shoenfeld Sportsmanship award. It was the first time that a 2yr school has received this honor in the history of the award. In the spring and the summer Cornell coaches a 16 and under girls AAU team (NJ Mavericks) and has been for the past 2yrs.

 

Melissa Mitchell Thomas

Melissa was a first-team All Conference player for Centralia County College in Washington State, where she averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists per game. She went on to play at Minot State University where she averaged 11pts 8reb and 4asst per game while playing a pivotal role on a Minot State team that was nationally ranked two years in a row. Melissa has been part of the Crossroads family since its inception and helps out with the Sunday basketball clinics. Melissa has been an assistant for the NJ Mavericks 16 and under girls team for the past 2yrs. She brings a lot of experience and knowledge of the game to our staff.

 

Vinny Synol

Vinny was a player under Cornell Thomas in his first year as head coach at Sussex County Community College. Vin was not only named team captain but also played a pivotal role in the teams semi final run in their conference tournament. Vin has been part of the Crossroads family for the past 2yrs. Vin works all of the summer basketball camps and basketball clinics. Vinny's love of the game and work ethic has not only helped him as a player but also as a trainer and cmap counselor at Crossroads Basketball.

 

Chris D'Alessio

Chris was also a player under Cornell Thomas in his first year as head mens basketball coach at Sussex County Community College.Chris was once of top 3pt shooters in the conference and was instrumental in helping the Skylanders reach the semi finals of their conference tournament. Chris has been with the Crossroads Basketball family for the past 2yrs. Chris helps with all Crossroads Basketball summer camps and attends some basketball clinics as well.
